Validation

Audio

Many New Americans living in the United States have already completed an education in their previous country–this can include high school diploma or a college or university degree. There are circumstances where services may need to be completed before the education is applicable to situations in the US.

Translation: Education documents in non-English languages will need to be translated into English before other services are completed.  Often the translations do not need to be done professionally.

Validation: This is completed when companies/institutions want to ensure that the documents from other countries are authentic and accurate.  Validation may be difficult if the issuing institution is no longer in operation due to war or closure.

Evaluations: Degrees in the US must meet basic standards.  To better understand the educational value of a degree from another country, an evaluation is completed.  This process cost approximately $250 and takes 2 to 3 weeks.

These services are sometimes required for continuing education for advanced degrees, or for employment purposes if required by a specific employer.  Please note that many colleges and universities will do this automatically for internal use only.
